Michael Morrison was born Milton Owen Ingley in Lubbock, Texas. After attending Texas Tech University he served in the in the U.S. Army as a corporal and was deployed to Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He began appearing in loops around 1977 and the following year made the transition to feature films. Morrison didn't have the physique of a leading man, but was reliable, and according to director Bob Vosse, became known as "the best stunt-cock in the business."
Over the next 10 years, Morrison appeared in some of the best porn films of the time, including Chopstix (1979), Fantasy (1979), Tangerine (1979), The Blonde (1980), CoEd Fever (1980) and Amanda by Night (1981). Perhaps his most famous role was opposite Kay Parker in Taboo (1980).
Porn actress Sharon Mitchell became friends with Morrison in the late 1970s and later said, "Milton always had a joke, a laugh, and a story to tell; long, tall stories like every Texan does. He always used to say 'Here's the deal.'"
He continued appearing in porn films until the mid-1980s, when he switched to directing. Then in 1995, Morrison obtained a copy of the Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson home sex tape.
The tape had been stolen from the couple's house by electrician Rand Gauthier. Gauthier had been hired to refurbish Tommy’s Malibu mansion in 1995, around the time he married Pamela on a beach in Cancun, Mexico. Tommy complained about what he said was “shoddy” work, apparently pointed a gun at Gauthier and refused to pay him about $20,000. So Gauthier stole the tape. The original plan was simply to hold on to the tape until Tommy paid his debt, but Morrison realised that a lot of money could be made from it.Morrison's daughter later said: "He knew he was going to get in trouble but he didn’t care. It really raked in a lot of money, I would say millions. And my dad spent every dime of it."
In 1997 Morrison moved to Amsterdam in The Netherlands with the money and vanished.
According to Mitchell: "In 1997, Milton dropped out of sight. No one could find him. It was a mystery to some... but most found out later that Milton lived happily for over 7 years in Amsterdam, traveling throughout Europe, the way he lived life: fast and hard."
He moved back to the US in 2004 and settled in Mesa, Arizona to be near his grandchildren. He died there in 2006, from complications of diabetes.
Mitchell: "Some say Milton grew tired of life; diabetes had left him blind. He ate too much, lived hard, fucked a lot, loved a lot, and laughed more. For a man like that to be inactive is like a death sentence, I think."
